Opening / Selling Statement - We are seeking an experienced, hands on Data Center technician located in Lynchburg, VA.
Job Duties - Maintain and support data center operations, including hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Manage server hardware, with a preference for UCS experience (training available for those unfamiliar).
Handle Fibre Channel connections and related tasks.
Perform basic storage management and maintenance on both Linux and Windows systems.
Conduct firmware updates and ensure the integrity of all data center equipment.
Collaborate with the Data Center Manager and other team members as needed.
Respond to off-hours emergencies as required, with flexibility in scheduling.
Job Requirements -
Hands-on experience in a data center environment.
Proficient in hardware and server maintenance.
Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with Fibre Channel technologies is a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Desired Skills & Experience - 3-5 years working in data center support or comparable hands on technical IT support role.
Hands-on experience in a data center environment.
Collaboration with outside 3rd party vendors
Proficient in hardware and server maintenance.
Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
Familiarity with Fibre Channel technologies is a plus.
Experience working with ITSM ticketing platforms. ServiceNow experience a plus.
